40 km from Lugo, heading towards the hills, we reach Brisighella, a bright village of ancient origins, that in Roman times was a point where the moving armies passed through. The most unusual and interesting attraction is the Via degli Asini, a raised road covered by a portico of low, rounded arches that was, as the name suggests (‘Donkeys' Road’) taken by donkey-draw carts heading to market.

The whole village is, in any case, a little different, with houses hunched not only over Via degli Asini, but also directly on the precipice that looks over the Lamone valley and the beautiful fortress, restored in 1457. Brisighella also has thermal baths with sulphurous and salty-iodic water.
