Along Via Emilia: tourism, culture, food and wine, and relaxation

Lugo is lucky enough to find itself right in the centre of a welcoming land that has a great deal to offer: history, art and culture, high level food and wine, with the typical Food and Wine Routes, and high quality relaxation, with a rich, varied thermal baths circuit, ranging from aesthetic treatments to curative.

True to the food and wine traditions that mark Romagna as a whole, everywhere you go, you will see signs posting the various Food and Wine Routes: these are evocative routes that take you through farms and vineyards, cheese makers and agricultural restaurants, etc., all open for visits and tasting of typical products of the territory.

For lovers of thermal baths and health-beauty routes, we must mention Castel San Pietro Terme, whose sources of mineral water were famous back in the 1300s, and the Villaggio della Salute, just a few kilometres out towards Monterenzio, a beautiful thermal and relaxation establishment that develops over 20 hectares, both inside and out. Nearby, you should also visit the Parco dei Gessi Bolognesi e dei calanchi dell’Abbadessa and the Regional park of the Monteveglio Abbey, immersed in the hilly landscapes around the thousand-year-old parish and the remains of the castle.

To complete the territory’s offer for those in search of a restful holiday, we should mention the many golf courses. The nearest to Lugo are those of Argenta, Riolo Terme, Forlì and Castel San Pietro, al 18-hole. There is just one 27-hole course, in Cervia.
